CHP Istanbul Deputy Barış Yarkadaş said “AKP has disbanded rule of law, ethics and morals from government.”
Yarkadaş who reacted to the photo in which police members are helping distribute Yes propaganda in Şırnak’s Silopi district, has said “This notes the crash of the state. If there is no justice, there is no government. How will the citizens trust the government?”
Yarkadaş specified that AKP has mobilized all the available public funds and personnel to conduct the YES campaign, and added “In Şırnak’s Silopi district this has reached its’ highpoint. The police officers posed alongside a YES brochure.”
Yarkadaş who indicated that AKP has lost its’ governmental impartiality, has said “The public would lose its’ trust in government after seeing these images. How will the citizens who will vote NO trust those police officers.”
Yarkadaş who stated that Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu should make a statement about the issue, has also asked him “Are you giving directives to the police officers to take place in the Yes campaign?”
Yarkadaş argued that if the police officers become the law enforcement of AKP, it would waft Turkey into an irrevocable situation, and said “AKP has to recover from this mistake… The police mustn’t be the law enforcement of a party, it must the law enforcement for the entire public.”
AKP Municipality is heading the same direction
On the other hand, CHP’s Yarkadaş has also criticized the YES billboard prepared by the AKP Şanlıurfa Municipality. Yarkadaş said “They are not ashamed of spending the municipality’s money on personal endeavors. This is explicitly constitutes a crime.”
Yarkadaş argued that the spelling errors on the billboard could also be discussed on its’ own.
