With yesterdays KHK (statutory decree), two more TV channels were shut down. CHP’s Barış Yarkadaş have said “The government has made clear this way that they have also declared Ja’fari’s as terrorist.”
CHP Media Commission Member Yarkadaş who argued that the two channels, Kanal 12 and Dört TV, were airing shows devoted to Ja’farism, also used the words “They are declaring everyone who doesn’t share AKP’s vision as terrorists.”
Yarkadaş pointed out that both channels were shut down on the basis of airing shows that would “aid terrorism and threaten national security” and asked “What kind of proof do the people who accuse these TV channels have?”
Yarkadaş underlined the fact that the Radio Television Supreme Council isn’t even notified of this development and said “The one man regime, doesn’t even require ostensible council decisions anymore.”
CHP’s Yarkadaş argued that it’s signaling that the two channels which were devoted to Ja’farisim were shut down and added “AKP has no tolerance to any other interpretations of religion aside from their own.”
This way, around two million people who associate themselves with Ja’farism have become “potential terrorists” told Yarkadaş and stated that AKP’s current attitude is very dangerous. Yarkadaş also stated that they will have attempts on the governmental level to revert this decision.
