CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu has given a call to the Kurt family and said “We are observing the process.”
CHP General President Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has called Uğur Kurt’s family, who was shot dead by a police officer three years ago, after the case was concluded.
Kılıçdaroğlu said “We are sad for both Uğur’s death and that the suspect being given a little punishment.”
“There is no law”
CHP Istanbul Deputy Barış Yarkadaş, has visited Uğur Kurt’s family home in Beyoğlu, along with Sezgin Tanrıkulu, Mahmut Tanal and Beyoğlu District Head Bekir Özcan. The deputies who visited the family after the police officer who killed Uğur Kurt was fined only 12 thousand TL following the trial, stated that they are closely monitoring the process and said “It is hard to speak of justice anymore.”
CHP deputies made father Kemal Kurt speak on the phone with CHP General President Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu said “We are sad for both Uğur’s death and that the suspect being given a little punishment. We are monitoring the process.” Father Kurt thanked Kılıçdaroğlu for his sensitivity. Father Kurt said “We want justice, but it is nowhere to be found.”
Uğur Kurt’s mother Gülünaz Kurt through CHP deputies’ visit said “There is a scale of justice in front of the courthouse; but there is no justice.” CHP Deputies Barış Yarkadaş, Sezgin Tanrıkulu and Mahmut Tanal who gave statements after the visit, said “The crimes the police officers commit go unpunished. The is a deliberate policy of the government.”
On the other hand, CHP deputies also visited Okmeydanı Djemevi where Uğur Kurt was shot to death.
